Last Week, Last Post!

 Hello Second Grade Families,

Can you believe it is June already?! What a great school year we had as second graders. The amount of growth we had, academically, socially, and emotionally was outstanding!

There are lots of local events to check out this summer! I am sending home a paper calendar of events to keep you informed and organized! Please look for it in the folders this week.

Also, I am sending home our end of the year STAR Assessment results that I mentioned a week or two ago. These results will help you notice your child's growth in reading and math across the school year.

Upcoming Dates

June 2: Field Day from 1-3 - send sunscreen and a water bottle please!
June 4: Last day of school for students
June 10: Summer School Begins
June 8-July 25: Summer Library Program with the Princeton Public Library! Stop in and check it out! It is FREE FUN!! (see more public library info below)

Homework:

Remember to have your child read this summer! The public library has a great summer reading program with prizes (see above)! Please, stop in to find out more!

What are we learning?

Character Strong: Week 3 of Creativity

ELA

Module 10: Many Cultures, One World

We will not have much more time for our lessons in module 10, but we will have a brief reading assessment, finish up our work with learning lessons from stories, and work with the /aw/ sound in words like paw and haul.

Math

We will work with fractions, introducing multiplication and division in unit 7 which is a very visual unit to help students begin developing and understanding for some third grade math concepts!

Please help your child practice telling time and counting money this summer!

Social Studies

Students will finish their Tribe posters and share them with the class. This was a group project and helped us a lot with working on cooperation skills!

Have a wonderful summer!

Mrs. Naparalla

Here is an album of photos from our fun field trip last week! Please, chaperones, add your pictures if you have a minute! I only got a few pictures and one video!
